Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Operations directs the performance and the activities of the equipment, building and grounds maintenance, and oversees the management of construction projects and BioSpectra’s vehicle fleet.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Participates in leadership discussions regarding how the operations departments can best impact the achievement of BioSpectra’s strategic goals.
    • Establishes annual and on-going goals for the operations departments.
  • Departmental Leadership
    • Develops and implements a site operation plan for each BioSpectra site and facility, to operate safely and in compliance with applicable quality systems standards and current federal, state and local regulations.
    • Directs the operations departments to abide by good housekeeping practices and comply with OSHA safety and health regulations.
  • Managing Operations Staff
    • Responsible for hiring, motivating and building the capabilities of the operations departments.
    • Oversees the quality of work and performance of the operations teams and directs management staff to coach and recognize individuals as appropriate.
    • Directs the development of training to ensure that all operations staff is trained appropriately and their training is documented for tasks assigned.
  • Construction & Project Management
    • Directs the management of BioSpectra construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope and within budget.
    • Oversees construction projects to ensure they are performed as directed and compliant with applicable industry standards.
  • Facilities Maintenance
    • Oversees the establishment and implementation of procedures to ensure all facilities related equipment are properly maintained and in continual effective working order.
  • Property Management
    • Oversees the management of BioSpectra outside property ensuring it continually maintains Company standards.
  • Fleet Management
    • Oversees all fleet related activities to ensure they achieve internal BioSpectra commitments, are managed effectively.
  • Cost Management & Improvements
    • Directs the development and implementation of efficient and cost-effective processes and utility systems to meet current and future operational needs of the organization.
  • Vendor Management
    • Directs the selection, oversees the performance of, and addresses gaps in the performance of outside vendors who perform work on behalf of the operation department.

Qualifications:

  • Education
    • A Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, building maintenance or other related degree and/or commensurate experience is required.

Experience:

  • A minimum of ten plus years of building maintenance experience with a chemical and/or materials manufacturer is required.
  • Operation management experience with an organization that requires compliance with cGMP regulations is required.
  • Construction and building maintenance management experience, knowledge of industry standards, and having a demonstrated knowledge of environmental and safety standards, is preferred.
  • Prior experience developing and implementing successful building preventive maintenance programs is ideal.
  • Prior experience leading organizations with excellent safety and health programs is ideal.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong time management, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Extensive knowledge of construction processes
  • Knowledge of building code requirements and safety protocol
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to employees at all levels, including making presentations to senior leadership.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others to achieve a high level of performance.
  • Ability to assess situations and act decisively and effectively.
  • Ability to manage complex and competing priorities and effectively communicate across multiple departments and functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess problems and determine effective solutions.

Work Hours:

  • Exempt Position
  • Minimum of 50-60 Hours Week, or other agreed upon documented schedule
  • Ability and willingness to work from all BioSpectra facilities
