Packsize is seeking a Product Safety and Compliance Specialist who will support the consistent implementation of the organization’s Product Safety and Compliance programs. This position will ensure that Packsize products adhere to machine-safeguarding and other product safety regulations, such as ISO 12100, ANSI B11.0, and ANSI B11.19. This person will cross-collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure compliance with various product regulatory standards, directives, and Packsize PSC policies and specifications. The Product Safety and Compliance Specialist will coordinate and perform risk assessments and verify mitigation plans to achieve the highest level of control measures throughout all stages of the product, from design through the operator interface.

This position requires a working knowledge of safety standards and regulations and a continuous improvement mindset. The ideal candidate understands being intentional in their efforts and not settling for "good enough" by proactively researching industry standards and regulations to help the team succeed together as leaders in product safety and compliance. The candidate must also be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members across a wide range of functions, including product management, quality, engineering, R&D, operations, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and outside vendors and inspectors. The ideal candidate can work on multiple projects and juggle competing priorities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the completion and revision of Packsize products' risk assessments throughout their lifecycle. Deliver high-quality risk assessment summary reports.

  • Tracks and verifies identified risks and associated risk reduction plans to verify they achieve the highest control measures to meet applicable regulatory requirements and Packsize’s acceptable risk levels.

  • Ontime and high-quality delivery of safety deliverables, including timely and accurate creation and review of PSC documentation for assigned product lines design, testing, and production.

  • Become a PSC subject matter expert and serve as safety lead on timely investigation and fulfillment of safety incidents and compliance requests of assigned products.

  • Works closely with the Safety Technician to ensure nonconformances related to product safety have timely mitigation measures and compliant corrective actions.

  • Support the OHS Specialist in implementing administrative controls for risk reductions associated with product risk assessments, including creating Job Hazards Analyses (JHAs) directly related to product safety.

  • Performs safety audits to ensure compliance and support continuous improvement of the Packsize Product Safety Compliance program, including product certification processes.

  • Perform audits of products' technical files to ensure they comply with internal specifications and geographical regulations.
