Job Objective/Summary: The Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech) performs examinations which are routine and standardized in nature and assist in performing more complicated examinations as needed. The diagnostic radiographic cases vary in imaging modalities, but must be completed with a demonstration of proficiency, ethical, and professional conduct. The Rad Tech is required to display a good understanding of age-related developmental issues of pediatric through geriatrics when explaining exams, as well as potential hazards, to patients in terms they can understand. They must also troubleshoot equipment used for diagnostic radiology and exercise extreme caution in the handling and safeguarding of all radiation producing equipment. Rad Techs must report major equipment malfunctions within a timely manner to service representatives. In addition, Rad Techs must demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Rad Techs work under the supervision of the director of radiology, and other relevant medical staff, to ensure that patients receive high-quality care; however, it is the responsibility of the individual to follow all federal and state regulations applicable to diagnostic imaging services.

Job Education, Licenses/Certifications, Knowledge & Experience: Must have completed the curriculum of a recognized school of Radiologic Technology, American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification and licensed by the State Department of Health. Prefer one year of radiology experience, but will consider registry eligible graduate. CPR certification is required.
