Job Title: Financial Reporting Manager
Seeking a Financial Reporting Manager for a food manufacturer and distributor of food and beverage products. Will prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Compile, analyze, and interpret financial data for reporting purposes in compliance with GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and accruals.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and provide insights for decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis to support strategic planning and performance evaluation.
- Maintain and improve financial reporting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay current with accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance and recommend necessary changes or updates.
- Support external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and resolving inquiries in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance and training to accounting staff on financial reporting processes and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to streamline financial reporting operations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, preferably in the food manufacturing industry or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with ERP systems proficiency in MS Excel
- Knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
- Experience with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and accruals.
- Previous experience with external audits
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff members.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with accounting standards and industry trends.
