Job DescriptionJob Description

Celerity Integrated Services, located in Quakertown, PA is seeking a full time Field Supervisor for its Construction department. This person would be directly responsible for running multiple jobs and managing and overseeing all resources necessary to complete each job on time and within budget while meeting customer expectations. Resources include, but are not limited to, labor, materials, sub-contractors, and equipment. The Field Supervisor will work under the direction and assistance of the department manager and project managers to ensure success.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee assigned jobs with the primary areas of focus being job completion, achieving profitability, meeting the expectations of the customer and ensuring that each job is completed to the company's quality standards. Create job schedules for all activities. Layout, maintain and update project schedules including working with all applicable departments to ensure all labor, materials, equipment and subcontractors are onsite as needed.
  • Ensure that Foremen are adequately guiding field operations in a safe, cost effective and proficient manner and with a high level of quality.
  • Modify Bills of Material (BOM) generated from Well Bid in a timely manner. Forward to Project Coordinator for entry into Foundation.
  • Interpret Scopes of Work, Levels of Effort, budgets, and reports from Well Bid. Fully understand aspects of each job to ensure an "as bid, as built" process. Seek viable cost savings and efficiencies over pre-established bid costs for each job if possible.
  • Ensure completion of Daily Performance Reports (DPRs) and all daily summaries required of your team are accurately completed; including but not limited to, allocation of time, time reporting, quantity of work completed, equipment/vehicles used, production rate, weather, subcontractors, tailboard talks and job site visitors.
  • Review field print mark-ups and notes then provide "red line" markups to the Department Manager to complete "as-built" drawings. Promptly notify that all final aspects and documentation of the jobs are completed and ready to have progress or milestone billing issued.
  • Coordinate and effectively handle Emergency Response jobs while on call or assignment. Ensure that all Emergency Restoration projects are completed, and that the emergency has been resolved.
  • Perform on-site surveys and attend field meetings as needed.
  • Work with Bidding & Estimating Manager, Department Manager and Operations Managers to calculate the costs and prices associated with change orders. May obtain customers approval in field prior to work commencing.
  • Work with Bidding & Estimating Manager to develop Levels of Effort including scopes of work, materials, equipment, labor, and time requirements. Assist in Rake Offs of prints if needed. Provides feedback of production rates to B&E for use in future bidding opportunities.
  • Coordinate with the inventory coordinator and purchasing agent to procure materials in a cost-efficient manner while being cognizant of cash flow.
  • Coordinate with fleet personnel to ensure vehicles and equipment are ready and available for assigned jobs.
  • Foster relationships with various customers, carriers, state and local governmental entities and various railway systems as necessary to schedule and complete jobs.
  • Ensure proper communication with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve any customer or service issues in a timely and cost-effective manner or to provide necessary access to sites
  • Ensures all issued parts and materials on a per job/project basis are reconciled to ensure accurate material usage and quantities per the job's specifications.
  • Monitor and report the overall safe use of company vehicles and equipment to avoid injury to employees and ensure that cost-effective maintenance of vehicles and equipment is practiced.
  • Assess employee talent and skill sets. Work with department managers to implement craft training for field employees. Assist in craft training for your teams.
  • Provide input on employee performance to management. This position does not have the authority to hire, discipline or terminate employment.
  • Lead all jobs with safety as a priority complying with safety regulations and policies.

Education and Experience:

  • BA in related field preferred. Equivalent experience accepted.
  • 5+ years of telecommunications experience in ISP/OSP.
  • Must be able to manage multiple aggressive job schedules.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications and scopes of work.
  • Microsoft Office 365 proficiency required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • OSHA 30 course for Construction
