Summary of Position

As a Learning and Develop Specialist, you will be instrumental in developing and delivering training programs that enhance the skills, performance, and productivity to all levels of Team Members in our mission-driven organization. Your focus on education and empowerment drives our initiatives, helping individuals achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in shaping engagement content and facilitating workshops that align with our organizational values and goals; including but not limited to orientation, retail onboarding, and retail leadership onboarding.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement effective training programs tailored to the needs of Team Members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Facilitate engaging and informative training sessions, both in-person and online, adapting your approach to a suit a variety of learning styles.
  • Develop instructional materials and courses, utilizing various instructional techniques and formats including simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and learning outcomes, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with various departments to assess ongoing training needs and develop strategies for continuous development and learning.
  • Maintain records of training activities and Team Member progress through our Learning Management System.
  • Direct administrative functions necessary to deliver and document Learning and Development programs.
  • Perform other duties as required in support of the department including, but not limited to, periodic reporting, specific administrative requirements of a program and other training/HR duties.
  • Provide technical and organizational support in the development/implementation of an effective training curriculum for Team Members.
  • Stay current on leading edge learning, knowledge management and professional development trends.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Trainer or Instructional Designer, with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in facilitating training sessions to all levels.
  • Knowledge of learning styles and adult learning theory.
  • Strong background in instructional design, with experience in creating and implementing training programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work and have excellent time managements skills.
  • Must be flexible to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and plan, organize and carry out multiple detailed tasks.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
  • Ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
