Position Summary:

We are seeking a Special Projects Accountant to join our Enterprise Division. This role focuses on financial accounting and accounting operations for JFDI Enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of accounting principles, be able to multi-task and demonstrate the ability to pivot from project to project as needed. This position is critical to the success of our accounting operations and requires someone proactive, demonstrates a can-do attitude, is always eager to assist, and is highly organized. The ideal candidate will cultivate a sense of curiosity and consistently exceed expectations in delivering outstanding results for our clients.

The Role:

Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Categorize transactions into the general ledger
  • Review client accounts payable invoices and assist with vendor payments
  • Review and process client expense reimbursements
  • Create supporting schedules for client's fiat and crypto (Balance Sheet Recs, Bank & CC recs, Interest schedules, etc.)
  • Assist with month-end or year-end close procedures and prepare financial statements
  • Assist with monitoring various client email inboxes and responding promptly
  • Other duties as assigned

Accounting Operations Responsibilities:

  • Register and close clients' payroll tax accounts (Withholding, Unemployment, PFML, etc.)
  • Investigate and respond to client state and federal letters (i.e. Tax notices, audit related and other)
  • Assist clients with employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Onboard new clients into software platforms such as QBO, Bill.com, Expensify, Gusto, etc.
  • Assist with client payroll processing and benefit renewals
  • Assist with the creation of handbooks and SOPs, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficient in accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with multi-state payroll tax registrations and closures is a plus
  • Highly skilled in MS Excel and working with data sets
  • Self-motivated with excellent follow-through skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members
