Your Impact:

The Communications Coordinator will be joining the MarComm team to support CASL in its Transformation Journey. Our mission is to:

Key Responsibilities:


Storytelling:

  • Foster an inclusive culture of storytelling by actively engaging with staff at all levels to encourage participation and collaboration.
  • Facilitate monthly cross-functional meetings to brainstorm and develop compelling content, emphasizing the importance of identifying impactful stories from clients, staff, and programs.
  • Conduct training sessions to educate staff on the significance of storytelling, providing guidance on recognizing and effectively capturing stories for submission.
  • Oversee the management of CASL's storytelling platform, ensuring the seamless solicitation, capture, cataloging, and utilization of stories to reinforce the organization's mission and impact.

Communications:

  • Collaborate closely with management to craft and implement a robust communications strategy tailored to CASL's target audience, informed by data-driven insights.
  • Ensure alignment between CASL's communication activities and the objectives outlined in the organization's Strategic Plan.
  • Project management alongside the Marketing Coordinator to develop communication collaterals that effectively convey CASL's messaging and achieve communication goals.
  • Co-create and maintain an editorial content calendar in partnership with the Marketing Coordinator and Multi-Media Design Officer, facilitating timely and impactful content publication.
  • Utilize data analysis to mine insights and present actionable recommendations to CASL Leadership and Marketing Committee driving informed decision-making.

Public Relations & Media

  • Collaborate with the MarComm VP to develop a comprehensive public relations strategy aimed at enhancing CASL's reputation and cultivating relationships with key external stakeholders.
  • Establish and manage a command center to track the effectiveness of CASL's communications and outreach efforts, generating reports to inform strategic adjustments.
  • Proactively distribute materials to stakeholders and lawmakers to increase CASL's visibility and influence.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with journalists, bloggers, investors, and other relevant audiences to amplify CASL's image and impact.
  • Maintain an updated media database within CASL's donor software, ensuring accurate and accessible information for media outreach.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, coordinating interviews and effectively managing PR issues as they arise, escalating when necessary to management for resolution.

Must Haves:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a communications role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, English, or Journalism

Environment and Scheduling:

  • Work is performed during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
  • Must be flexible and available to work additional hours when necessary.
