Arlington Coal & Lumber is seeking Outside Sales Representatives who will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers, including contractors, builders, and construction companies. This position will represent our company’s products, providing expert knowledge and exceptional service to meet customer needs. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual with strong communication and sales skills, capable of working independently and achieving sales targets.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, including contractors, builders, and construction companies.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
  • Provide product information and recommendations, ensuring customers select the right materials for their projects.
  • Prepare and present sales proposals, quotes, and contracts.
  • Assist in the collection of accounts receivable
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with the inside sales team and other departments to ensure seamless customer service and order fulfillment.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote company products and services.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and account management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the lumber, building materials, or construction industry.
  • Working knowledge of estimating blueprints and materials
  • Strong understanding of lumber and building materials, including product specifications and applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in using point of sale software and other sales tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular travel to customer sites.
  • Established network of contacts within the construction or lumber industries.
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds

*Some local travel required, no overnight travel


Job Type: 40+ Hours per week; Full Time Position; Day Shift
