Working as a Software Test Engineer within the Testing function of KCS you will ensure the quality of the products by generating and executing product functionality tests and identifying and reporting product defects as part of a cross functional project team. You will be part of a dynamic, energetic and accommodating team.

The VAST Enterprise Retail automotive service management software is a comprehensive point-of sale application that drives new revenue growth and generates incremental profits for single and multi-site auto service shops, while efficiently managing day-to-day shop operations.

VAST’s behind-the-scenes application, VAST Maintenance, plays an integral role in the implementation and use of the VAST Enterprise Retail software.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be expected to undertake a wide range of activities and your responsibilities will include:

  • Develops Automated and Manual Tests
  • Participate in all aspects of QA product lifecycle: understand the product requirements, test cases creation, feature/regression/integration/end-to-end test execution.
  • Runs through test cases and reports on results
  • Ensure defects are being reported on and tracked.
  • Working with developers to diagnose and rectify software problems.
  • Understand product business requirements and review functional specifications, to detect and remove defects early in the product development lifecycle
  • Write test cases in line with a specification to test core functionality, identify and investigate ambiguities in test results and propose solutions
  • Execute test cases on specific areas of product functionality and check outcomes against expected results
  • Participates fully in Agile development processes including communicating and voicing ideas, questions, and concerns openly with the team
  • Participates fully in the relevant scrum events; planning and estimation, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Implement and use the departmental standard QA processes and tools.
  • Working collaboratively with developers and testers to ensure quality is built into our applications as new feature and technologies are introduced.
  • Embraces continuous improvement as part of our Scrum process.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience of software developments using Agile methodology
  • ISTQB qualification (preferred)
  • Experience of Automated testing (C#, Selenium Webdriver, Specflow, Appium, API or web application or mobile testing)
  • Experience of writing, maintaining and executing manual test cases
  • Expertise across the entire test lifecycle
  • Experience of integration testing.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and executing SQL scripts to validate all defined criteria.
  • Install Testing of the Product MSI in the QA Environment
