A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WEB DEVELOPER II
As a Web Developer II, you spend your day analyzing user needs to implement Web site content, graphics, performance, and capacity. Your work typically involves converting written, graphic, audio, and video components to compatible Web formats by using software designed to facilitate the creation of Web and multimedia content. Your job is essential to the city, you create, improve and maintain the City's websites vision and transparency. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include collaborating with departments to design and implement new or revised methods that effectively meet their needs. You also assist in the application and implementation of internet and intranet security. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in information technology and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A WEB DEVELOPER II
- Bachelor's/Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Master's Degree in related field.
- Requires three (3) years' experience in developing and managing websites
- Five (5) years' experience in related field.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the city's expense
- Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
