Overview:

We are seeking a leader to join our Energy team in our Houston, TX office. We are hiring for the position of Energy Modeling Manager. This is a full-time position (8am-5pm, M-F). Reporting to the Vice President of Energy. The manager will perform and oversee energy modeling analysis for residential structures using whole building analysis programs such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Ekotrope. Analyst will collect data, perform simulations using drawings prepared by an architect or residential designer. Analyst will generate reports communicating energy analysis findings, report design recommendations for improved energy performance.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and developing employees.
  • Managing small project teams to develop, execute and complete assignments.
  • Organizing team roles and evaluating employee performance
  • Documenting operational tasks and reporting to upper-level management
  • Performing employee reviews and assessments
  • Assist with new employee onboarding and training program.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following:

  • Examining residential building plans
  • Performing take-offs of the building envelope
  • Inputting data and modeling in REM/Rate, Ekotrope, EnergyPro

Reports to: Vice President of Energy

Requirements:

Education, Experience and Desired Qualifications:

  • Current RESNET HERS Rater
  • Modeling certification is a plus
  • 4-6 years of relatable experience preferred
  • 1-2 years experience using AutoCAD
  • An understanding of residential construction and architectural plans.
  • Experience with EnergyPro, Ekotrope and Rem/Rate is preferred, but we will provide needed training in certification
  • 3 years prior leadership experience
  • Understands current energy codes and programs
  • The ability to read and understand a set of residential architectural plans
  • Good math skills, high attention to detail, interpersonal skills, quick learner
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Excel, PDF programs, Outlook
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Experience with web navigation and online research.
