Job Title: Plumbing Technician Lead


Job Description:

As a Plumbing Production Technician, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing and production of plumbing systems and components. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks focused on assembling, inspecting, testing, and ensuring the quality of plumbing products before they are shipped to customers or used in construction projects. You will work closely with a team of engineers, designers, and other production personnel to meet production goals, maintain quality standards, and ensure efficient operations within the plumbing manufacturing facility.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install plumbing components and systems according to established blueprints, diagrams, and specifications. This may include pipes, valves, fittings, faucets, and other plumbing fixtures.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and test finished plumbing products to meet quality and safety standards. Identify and address any defects, inconsistencies, or malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure optimal functionality. Report any issues that require specialized maintenance or replacements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, test results, and any deviations from specifications. Generate reports and documentation as needed for quality assurance purposes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide feedback on product design and manufacturing processes. Participate in cross-functional discussions to improve product quality and production efficiency.
    • Material Handling: Safely handle and transport plumbing materials, tools, and equipment within the production area. Ensure proper storage and organization of materials to support a clean and orderly workspace.
    • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards to create a safe work environment. Identify potential hazards and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents or injuries.
    • Training Delivery: Conduct plumbing training sessions, including both instruction and hands-on practical training. Teach trainees the fundamentals of plumbing, including pipe installation, repair, maintenance, and plumbing code compliance.
    • Curriculum Development: Develop and update training materials, lesson plans, and curricula to ensure they align with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
    • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot production-related issues and resolve technical challenges that may arise during the manufacturing process.
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • In addition to plumbing duties, when downtime occurs the position will be required to assist in other departments depending on the company's need. This could look like cleaning, organizing,  assembling, driving (errands), etc


Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in plumbing, mechanical engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • 5+ years of plumbing experience.
  • Proven experience in plumbing assembly, installation, or manufacturing within a production environment.
  • Familiarity with plumbing codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
