This summary provides a listing of the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are critical components for the position of HR / People Services Generalist.

General

This is a full-time position that will report to the Director of Maintenance and interacts with the VP of Maintenance and Engineering, Manager of Maintenance, Director of Operations, the Chief Pilot, Systems Operations Control staff, the Company’s flight mechanics and flight crews. The responsibilities include the day-to-day aircraft maintenance needs of the Company involving a variety of maintenance tasks relating to the Company’s aircraft and engines. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of all FAR aircraft maintenance requirements. Good communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with maintenance crews in a fast paced/dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees Hangar Supervisors, Maintenance technicians and contract aircraft maintenance as appropriate and adhere to approved procedures and data while performing their duties.
  • Responsible for hangar maintenance personnel (employees and contractors) attendance and time keeping.
  • Ensure there adequate staffing to perform schedule and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Responsible through the Hangar Supervisors that maintenance performed is timely and on-time. Any delays must be report to the Director of Maintenance or the VP of Maintenance and Engineering.
  • Participate in the morning maintenance meeting detailing maintenance activity.
  • Oversee the meeting of aircraft arriving to MCI, check of aircraft maintenance logs, and respond to discrepancies by assigning tasks and manpower for items entered into the logbook.
  • Keep the Director of Maintenance up to date on all out of service and AOG aircraft.
  • Oversees the performance of routine and non-routine maintenance on aircraft at both the hangar and line maintenance.
  • References the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, the Illustrated Parts Catalog, the Structural Repair Manual, the Component Maintenance Manuals, and the wiring diagrams to perform work on aircraft.
  • Ensures required paperwork is accurately prepared and signed off using procedures set forth in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
  • Uses only approved and certified hardware, parts, and equipment to be installed or used on aircraft.
  • Ensure that all parts are present and accounted for prior to scheduled maintenance.
  • Ensure that all test equipment and tooling is accessible. Notify the Director of Maintenance if tooling needs to be purchased.
  • Responsible for making sure all employees are properly trained and recurrent training is up to date per the GMM.
  • Ensure all employees are properly trained on ground equipment use.
  • Oversee OJT and make sure it is properly documented and sent to the employees training record.
  • Coordinate with the Manager of the FME’s to utilize the FME’s during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance visits.
  • Promotes teamwork amongst maintenance personnel and the FME crews.
  • Helps maintain facilities and equipment as directed by the leadership team.
  • Maintain hangar cleanliness.
  • Arrange for aircraft cleaning when needed.
  • Upholds safety and security procedures and awareness.
  • Has the ability to obtain additional qualifications through training and education as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Maintenance or VP of MX & Engineering.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Ability to successfully pass assessment which demonstrates basic knowledge of line maintenance under part 121 operations.
  • Five (5) years of experience or more on commercial aircraft in a part 121 environment
  • Three (3) years of experience or more of supervisory experience
  • Ability to travel to airport/aircraft field locations with little or short notice.
  • Ability to drive tugs, trucks, taxi aircraft, lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift and tractor and/or other maintenance vehicles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communication.
  • Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop frequently in confined space.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets the Company’s insurance standards.
  • Pass a two (2) year background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and the Internet
  • Familiarity with accessing online aircraft manuals.
  • Work will include outdoors with seasonal weather.
  • Ability to work in elevated areas.
