Position Overview


The Sheet Metal Foreman is responsible for the successful completion of projects on the job site. This role involves managing the job site for efficiency and accuracy, providing leadership to on-site employees, and ensuring that safety protocols are strictly followed. The foreman will coordinate with other trades, maintain inventory, and ensure that the job is properly stocked with the necessary materials. This individual is also tasked with training new and inexperienced employees, promoting their growth and understanding of the trade.


Job Description/Duties:


  • Manage daily labor and productivity while giving clear objectives and timelines.
  • Accurately enter or review hours worked in the payroll application.
  • Coordinate with the general contractor and other trades to achieve project goals.
  • Adhere to and enforce safety policies, correcting any non-compliance immediately.
  • Positively represent Sessa Sheet Metal in all daily communications.
  • Listen to employee concerns and guide them towards resolutions.
  • Report all work-related injuries immediately and complete the required reports.
  • Complete daily paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Safely operate a company vehicle during work hours.
  • Collaborate with the site Supervisor regarding job site materials.
  • Inventory and track all products delivered to the job site, being aware of all materials on site.
  • Monitor and track all material on backorder.
  • Responsible for mark-out/layout of all systems and products as indicated in the contract documents and coordination drawings.
  • Maintain all on-site project documentation (Time Sheets, Daily Logs, Weekly Safety, Test Reports, Pictures, etc.).
  • Manage jobs and employees with moderate support from the project management team.


Skills & Competencies:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction field, concentrating in HVAC/sheet metal.
  • Completion of a 4-year OJT or State certified apprenticeship program.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction-related HVAC/sheet metal.
  • Valid, unencumbered US Driver’s License.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a Journeyman Certificate from granting authorities.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Trade experience with 4+ years preferred (licensed if available for relevant trade).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities.
  • Ability to develop a team and work cohesively.
  • Receptive to new ideas and questions.
  • Efficient and organized.
  • Ability to address and manage moderate levels of stress.
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle during work hours, if provided.


Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking.
  • Frequent squatting, reaching, and working overhead.
  • Capacity to climb stairs.
  • Work at varying heights while on a ladder.
  • Ability to work in all indoor and outdoor climates.

Regular, predictable attendance is required, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and other trades is essential.

The job involves frequent travel to and from job sites.
