Your Responsibilities will be:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Work with third parties, including property managers and banks, to ensure records are accurate
  • Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and accurate
  • Monitor and analyze costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
  • Assist in the preparation and management of budgets, providing analysis and insights to support financial planning
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including liaising with tax preparers
  • Work closely with other departments, such as finance, operations, and HR, to support overall business objectives and provide financial insights
  • Assist in all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
  • Oversee the review of monthly reporting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes
  • Other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, Accounting/Finance focus preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with some supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
  • Experience maintaining accounting software systems with implementation experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work within limited time constraints and demonstrated ability to problem solve
  • PC literate in a Windows environment and strong knowledge of Microsoft Applications
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Experience with posting journal entries and monthly reconciliations
