JOB LOCATION: Nashville, TN (strongly preferred); Remote Possible in the Central Time Zone
TRAVEL: Up to 35%
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The CPO will own and deliver on the product roadmap, with the ability to translate strategic vision into tangible product initiatives. The CPO will apply the latest technology, where appropriate, including AI to product design and development, embracing and leveraging evolving technologies, and collaborating with engineering teams to create disruptive products from scratch. The CPO will be responsible for the overall success of product features and coordinating cross-functional (useable by multiple verticals) activities involved in product development, release, and customer success. The CPO will work alongside the vertical leaders to set an overall product strategy and drive the product team to execute on this strategy.
The CPO is someone who operates at a fast pace and is willing to roll up their sleeves and get into the weeds with the product and engineering teams, while simultaneously managing up to inform long-term strategic priorities.
i3 Verticals is a very acquisitive company so proper evaluation, due diligence, and onboarding of acquired businesses is critical to our growth strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, own, and execute a unified product vision and strategy that aligns to and supports our organizational goals.
- Drive the product management and product development teams to define and deliver best-in-class tech-enabled content and training solutions with a deep understanding of stakeholder needs and preferences.
- Establish a global product development and management process for i3 Verticals to ensure we prioritize the right product investments and deliver product launches on time and on budget.
- Engage with potential external partners and make decisions on whether to build or partner when launching new products.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to analyze stakeholder needs, market opportunities and competitive offerings; use this insight to define and prioritize product roadmaps – including establishing and facilitating a Product Review Board with senior stakeholders across the organization.
- Collaborate with marketing and customer success teams to establish commercial propositions, pricing models and develop supporting materials for product launches.
- Be responsible for the education of the product teams in best practices of agile software product delivery.
- Coordinate with the CRO and key Finance members as designated to accelerate the design and contracting revenue recognition models.
- Ensure business development teams are well equipped to effectively sell new products and new product features.
- Work with technology teams to define requirements and associated timelines to deliver new products or enhancements of existing products.
- Develop and maintain a user-focused approach to our platform and solutions, ensuring that they are intuitive and effective. Provide strategic guidance around product initiatives and priorities; monitor progress, distill key learnings, and share feedback with the wider organization for alignment and adjustment.
- Define metrics for success and continually monitor the performance of products, develop, and measure product metrics and evaluate our competitive capability relative to the primary competitors in each market segment.
- Review product portfolio for stagnant technology and determine future product paths including sunset, migration, or upgrade.
- Support full sales opportunity life cycle as a product expert.
- Work with marketing to produce presentations, white papers, blogs, and other content to communicate our vision to potential customers, partners, press, and other industry thought leaders.
- Engage with stakeholders to test new products after launch and participate in sales calls to launch new products and offerings.
- Develop product management capabilities and skills across the organization content and product teams.
- Partner with the CTO and vertical Presidents to lead the development and implementation of i3 Verticals’ strategic product vision. Drive end-to-end execution and delivery; oversee ideation to product launches to scaling the business through revenue growth.
- Conduct in-depth market and customer assessments to analyze buyers and users, define value propositions for each segment, foster innovation, and develop high-value use cases. Convert insights into detailed product requirement documents for high-performing enterprise SaaS products.
- Design and establish SaaS business models through recurring revenues.
- Develop pricing models for successful product launches (within Public Sector, Healthcare and Education verticals).
- Demonstrate a commitment to customer success, satisfaction, and retention through continuous improvement.
- Apply the latest AI technologies and collaborate with engineering teams to build disruptive AI products in a fast-paced, iterative manner.
- Exhibit a strong penchant for customer engagement, actively seeking to understand their key needs; integrate customer feedback into SaaS solutions and platform development.
- Identify valid recurring-revenue opportunities derived from customer needs, simplifying problems, and translating them into clear product requirements and workflow needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 5-10+ years of experience in product management owning the entire product lifecycle, designing product roadmaps from conceptualization through launch while prioritizing critical must-haves (ideally building SaaS solutions in the Public Sector, Healthcare or Education verticals).
- Domain knowledge within the public, health, or education tech space; general understanding of payments; ability to dig into and grasp the specific complexities of the public, health, and education industries.
- Knowledge and experience of how to leverage large sets of data, synthesize and eventually commercialize (pricing, packaging, etc.).
- Eagerness to embrace challenges and a proactive sense of urgency.
- Technical acumen to effectively communicate and understand concepts within engineering teams.
- Adhere to all organizational information security policies and protect all sensitive information including but not limited to ePHI, PHI, PCI in accordance with organizational policy and Federal, State, and local regulations.

Compensation Package:
Compensation will be highly competitive and dependent upon many factors including, but not limited to, education, experience, and skills. The package for this position is composed of base salary, stock plus bonus potential.
