Gryphon Environmental is seeking a full-time highly motivated individual for the position of Business Analyst well versed in SharePoint server-side programming, REST, SOAP, and other SharePoint APIs and Microsoft applications in direct support to the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) 88th RD information Management Office (IMO).

The Business Analyst supports the Data Analytics and Business Automation Laboratory (DABAL), which is responsible for the day-to-day operations to help advance Knowledge Management strategic goals in assessing, designing, developing, piloting, and implementing data and out of the box software solutions to enhance unification in interoperability, minimize duplication of efforts, and enhance effective readiness solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and training material for end users.
  • Analyze business processes for identification of possible automation.
  • Work with business stakeholders and IT teams to determine requirements, locate patterns, and outline solutions.
  • Facilitate deconfliction of requirements between staff sections and echelons where applicable.
  • Maintain identification of all current systems and capabilities within the command footprint.
  • Design graphic elements such as icons, buttons, and images, and building navigation components such as menus and search bars.
  • Identification of current gaps in systems, or knowledge transfer issues of system capabilities.
  • Building of requirements documentation in accordance with PMBOK standards.
  • Building process maps to support initiatives and facilitate the requirements documentation in accordance with PMBOK standards.
  • Facilitate reports based on 88th RD G6 requirements.
  • Review current applications and configurations for potential deconflictions of possible command process improvements and/or policy initiatives.
  • Conduct research to identify user needs and preferences and develop a design strategy that meets those needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their goals and objectives and ensure that the design aligns with those goals.
  • Gather feedback from users to understand their needs and preferences and use that feedback to inform the design process.
  • Create a design strategy that outlines the goals, objectives, and requirements of the project.
  • Create wireframes and mockups that illustrate the design strategy and provide a visual representation of the product.
  • Gather user requirements to ensure that the design meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Design graphic elements such as icons, buttons, and images, and building navigation components such as menus and search bars.
  • Design work with less supervision, such as mock-ups for reporting, assist low fidelity wireframing, and development of instructional materials.
  • Validate documentation of stakeholder provided information (i.e., flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, wireframe’s) are properly documented and on file.
  • Validate DABAL development documentation that can be provided to technical subject matter experts (SME’s) is on file with 88th G6 policies and procedures. (i.e., Bug Log, Change Log, Event Log, Technical Documentation).
  • Validate DABAL documentation of end users training and materials to assist them with common issues.
  • Ensure that IT systems and security policies and standards are upheld.
  • Attend meetings and conferences in person, over the phone, or via MS TEAMS as required to serve as a primary DABAL interface with the Government.

Qualifications (Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, computer science, or a related field; relevant and equivalent experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience as a business analyst, preferably in a business or technology-driven organization.
  • Strong understanding of business analysis principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or similar software.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to extract meaningful insights.
  • Familiarity with process modeling and workflow tools.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools is desirable.
  • Solid understanding of business operations, processes, and industry trends.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and learn new business domains and concepts.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements that impact the business.
  • Proven experience in eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Ability to conduct interviews, workshops, and meetings to gather information and clarify business needs.
  • Strong documentation skills to create clear and concise business requirement documents, use cases, and functional specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes, assess risks, and propose effective solutions.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically, considering both short-term and long-term business implications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, present findings, and lead meetings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize stakeholder needs, expectations, and requirements.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and managing their engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business environments and requirements.
  • Proactive approach to staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business analysis.

Experience working on projects involving process improvements, system implementations, or business transformations.
