Job Summary: An IT Applications Support Analyst (WMS) is responsible for creating software that suits the needs of end users or configuring software for the user. They could be tasked with developing software specifically for Hörmann’s use or other customers. Throughout their day, they meet with internal or external customers and business leaders to learn more about their needs. They then use this information to design all the components of a project or program. It’s the Jr. Application Engineer’s job to ensure all these components work together and perform maintenance on them if any bugs or issues exist. The IT Applications Support Analyst (WMS)  will learn quickly the Hormann systems and manufacturing, most especially the WMS system. They must work well in ambiguity and occasionally a stressful environment – adapting quickly to meet the needs of the business.

 

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Robust knowledge of computer systems to develop applications. Knowledge/exposure of LFS/EPG is highly prized.
  • Communication skills to provide instructions to all parties included in the project and answer all questions a customer may have on how the software works.
  • Attentiveness to detail to ensure all parts of an application come together and work as intended.
  • Interpersonal skills to be able to work with others who may be included in the project to ensure it works properly.
  • Problem-solving skills to ensure any issues that arise during the design and testing processes are fixed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to configure software to meet the business needs.
  • Able to attend work, in Sparta, regularly.
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and that work.
  • Should be able to run with projects, define and make project plans and integrate with other plans.
  • Record-keeping skills to track the development process.
  • Must be proactive and have business process knowledge.
  • Ability to act with minimum supervision and to take the lead on projects and with people when the need arises.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. Related job experience can be substituted for education.
  • Approximately 3 years IT experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth Front-end or back-end knowledge of the Hormann LFS WMS system knowledge or ability to quickly gain an understanding.
  • Works well in both a team and individual environment.
  • Organized project management skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and active listening.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks.
  • Strong ability to pick up new systems quickly and effectively.
  • Obtain a working knowledge of the Hormann SAP Template to support LFS.

  • The successful candidate must be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently or collaboratively as a member of a team; above all, must be solutions-oriented. Naturally inquisitive.
  • Must exhibit strong leadership skills as well as possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to work in an ambiguous and ever-changing environment.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when necessary. Must have initiative.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, and priorities, and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Able to think outside the box and be able to not only follow directions but accept ownership of problems and issues to quickly and permanently correct them.


Equipment Used:

This position is communication-oriented and will primarily use a computer and telephone to perform most work tasks. Expert abilities in systems applications are required.
