The Production Test Technician is responsible for assembling electronic components and cable harnesses including but not limited to all related tasks in electronic assembly, software load and testing. In addition, serves in the repair station evaluating, repairing and testing electronic equipment in accordance with all Company and FAA rules and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and repairs electronic equipment in accordance with repair station guidelines.
  • Assemble electronic components and cable harnesses according to a weekly production schedule.
  • Following kit assembly instructions, using a bill of materials, diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Crimping up to 28 – 30 gauge wire.
  • Soldering through-hole PCB components and wire splices.
  • Load and test software and firmware files.
  • Conduct in process and final assembly inspections according to quality system instructions.
  • Identify and escalate manufacturing issues to production management team members.
  • Troubleshooting to the assembly level.
  • Follows safety rules and regulations.
  • Effectively communicates details of repair work to fellow employees and managers as needed.
  • Informs the Support and Service team of recurring failure modes, errors, problems and all other occurrences affecting the operation of the repair station.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 Required Skills/Abilities:
  • This position requires enrollment and participation in the DOT FAA Drug/Alcohol Abatement program.
  • Good reading and communication skills, (Fluency in English) with demonstrated ability to listen, provide explanations and give direction regarding production processes, procedures, instructions and diagrams.
  • Able to interpret and follow written technical work instructions, to include reading wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Demonstrated skills in soldering, wire stripping and terminal crimping skills.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting electronic circuit and video/audio data signals.
  • Problem solving and diagnostic skills related to assembly, testing and inspection. 
  • Demonstrated strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • High degree of commitment, initiative, flexibility and attention to detail.
  • Requires a high level of professional ethics and appreciation for teamwork.
 Education and Experience:
  • High School or equivalent diploma. Technical school study or certificate preferred.
  • Minimum 5-years’ experience in electronics assembly or electronics troubleshooting and repair.
  • Minimum 3-year s’ experience in a lead position, leading a team or work group in a production or similar environment.
