Job Title: Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP)

Reports To: Medical Director

Northpoint Washington has an opening for an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) at our Edmonds, Washington inpatient facility.

POSITION SUMMARY: The ARNP will provide consultation and direct patient care including diagnostic assessment, preventative and educational services, and medication evaluation and management to the patient population, in accordance with best care practices, industry standards, organizational guidelines, and state and federal laws. As a key member of the Northpoint team, this position will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team to provide the best possible care.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Provide advanced nursing services consistent with the ethical guidelines of the profession and the policies and procedures of Northpoint
  • Conduct health assessments of patients with known or foreseen health problems
  • Medication evaluation and initiation and short-term management of prescribed medications
  • Ordering and interpreting lab tests, as needed, for patients prior to and/or during prescription management
  • Consultation to physicians / mid-levels regarding any ongoing medical care, maintenance and disease prevention
  • Case management, engage in education process
  • Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to multidisciplinary team as necessary
  • Document information regarding patient care and behavior as required in policies and procedures
  • Utilize crisis prevention intervention when exposed to volatile patients to maintain personal safety for the patient and other individuals in the unit
  • Participate in patient treatment planning and implementation under the direction of the Medical Director
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program preferred
  • Current Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license with prescriptive privileges or eligibility to obtain licensure upon hire
  • Valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certification
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience post Master’s degree under supervision of licensed/certified mental health and substance professionals preferred
  • Knowledge and skills in English usage, interpersonal relationships and excellent communication skills

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must hold a current and active Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license with prescriptive privileges
  • Must maintain current and nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification

  • Must have reasonable ability to stand, walk, sit, handle, feel, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, taste and smell
  • Must be able to lift up to 20lbs
  • Environment is a forty-four (44) bed residential treatment atmosphere with access to an outside patio. Work environment may include exposure to outside weather conditions
  • Exposure to disturbed and potentially aggressive patients is possible. Stress ranges from low to intense depending on the situation

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Completion of a tuberculin screening during first week of employment
  • Completion of a pre-employment drug screening, post-accident and random for upon reasonable suspicion of use
  • Completion of orientation and required paperwork prior to reporting to work
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid Training within first 90 days of employment
  • Attendance at all mandatory staff development and training
  • Completion of background and reference checks
  • Must be vaccinated against COVID-19
