Columbia Packaging Group has an immediate opening for a Sales Director in the Flexible Packaging Industry. The ideal candidate will be located in the Kansas City area, Southern California area, or Cambridge, Ohio area.


The Sales Director will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive sales strategies to target new clients and deepen existing customer relationships. Duties include analyzing market trends, competitive intelligence and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and guide the sales approach. The Sales Director oversees a team of sales professionals and works directly with distributors and customers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drives revenue growth and achieves sales targets
  • Formulates and implements targeted sales strategies to secure new business and cultivate a robust pipeline in alignment with revenue targets through a methodical sales process
  • Plays a role in identifying and understanding customer needs to tailor our offerings accordingly
  • Monitors and manages the performance of the sales teams by setting and reviewing goals and conducting any training needs
  • Employs value-based sales techniques to assess project returns on investment and structure deals appropriately
  • Employs industry knowledge to identify potential new markets and increase market share
  • Collaborates seamlessly with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional client experiences and drive repeat business opportunities
  • Leverages sales and marketing resources effectively to pinpoint promising prospects
  • Regularly updates sales representatives on progress through comprehensive reports on forecasts, pipeline status, and deal activities
  • Monitors and reports key performance metrics on a weekly basis using HubSpot
  • Participates in market and competitive research and tracks trends and activities
  • Contributes to the development of website, collateral, sales library and training information
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Adheres to all Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Performs various special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ten years of successfully selling packaging or other similar products that require understanding the technical capabilities of a domestic manufacturer
  • Five years of progressive sales leadership experience, with a proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and growing market share
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data, identify insights, and develop strategic plans
  • Proficient in using CRM software, preferably HubSpot
  • Excellent team leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team
  • Willingness to travel extensively to meet with Sales Representative and customers, and attend sales events or exhibits
