SUMMARY:

  • We’re seeking a Senior/Staff Software Test Engineer to join our Software Quality team, focused on test automation and test process improvement.
  • In this role, your primary responsibility will be designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests and tooling used to prove software performance and reliability meets product specifications.
  • Additionally, you’ll refine the processes by which we test, driving efficiency, completeness, and software product quality.
  • You will also contribute to exploratory testing, software/product release testing, and usability testing, doing so in simulated environments, on dedicated hardware, and on full systems.
  • Your contributions will be crucial in improving operational efficiency of both the software team and the broader engineering organization, and will greatly contribute to delivering a product to the market with confidence.  

What You Will Do:
 
  • Develop software tooling and test frameworks to be used in both simulated and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
  • Develop test cases to efficiently test software as defined through User Stories and Product Requirements.
  • Design test plans for various product feature sets and software release processes.
  • Refine processes and test expectations so that when software is released, we have high confidence in its function and reliability.
  • Communicate goals and metrics related to test coverage, test status, test results, and product reliability.
  • Build software product delivery confidence and consistency, improving product reliability and release readiness. 

To Be Successful You Will Have:
 
  • 4-7 years of Experience working in a fast-paced software or robotics development environment.
  • Proven Python and Bash development knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide valuable testing feedback for in-development products.
  • Strong, clear, and concise communication through a collaborative mindset.
  • Comfort and confidence in determining how to go about testing a piece of software.

Nice-to-Have:
 
  • BS in Engineering (computer science, mechanical or electrical engineering)
  • Hardware experience (significant value, although not required)
  • Familiarity with agriculture, drones, aviation
  • Familiarity with Rust
