About the Role: Staff Accountant

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Staff Accountant performs various accounting functions and activities such as accrual accounting, reconciliation management, accurate financial transaction posting, process payroll, and various other duties as assigned. Ideal candidates will be self-starters who are motivated to grow their career by joining a high growth company and help to build out an accounting team.

What you will do:
  • Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, check and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices
  • Update accounts receivable including issuing invoices, reconciliations, and handling of issues or queries
  • Update accounts payable including performing reconciliations, resolving issues or queries, and assisting in vendor payment processes
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for employees
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
  • Assist senior staff in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
  • Assist with other accounting and finance projects
  • Complete end of month close procedures as assigned.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting, etc.. as needed
  • Coordinate with management and staff to prepare budgets
  • Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures, and federal and state regulations
  • Assist in financial and tax audits, and general ledger preparation
  • Assist in CPA engagements and tax preparation
What you need to succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
  • Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) certificate preferred
  • Sound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the strong organizational skills
