Spectrum Management, LLC has been serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for over 23 years and provides a comprehensive array of services that include construction management, facilities operations & maintenance, and real estate development services. Spectrum Management is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to provide financial, administrative, and clerical support to our organization at our Main Office. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of accounting principles, including purchase orders, vendor invoices and other daily financial processes.
 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Payments: Completing payments, receiving payments, and scheduling paychecks
  • Invoices: Processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
  • Financial records: Creating, managing, and producing financial records that track cash flow and payments to vendors and suppliers
  • Accuracy: Ensuring all financial records are accurate and correct
  • Communication: Listening to vendors and client requirements, communicating accounting principles or calculations to them
  • Reports: Generating reports detailing accounts payable status and monthly vendor statements
  • Compliance: Understanding compliance issues around accounts payable processes, such as W-9 and sales tax
  • Transactions: Recording transactions after processing payments, including the payment amount and date
  • Entries: Entering monthly closing journal entries, re-classing pre-paid expenses to expenses, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Accounts Payable Specialist is not a supervisory role.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting required
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Government Accounting experience preferred
  • QuickBooks Desktop experience preferred
  • Payroll processing experience preferred.
