Job Summary:

CCANO's Refugee Services Program provides case management and employment services to support refugee self-sufficiency. The Refugee Case Aide enhances CCANO's Refugee Services Program by supporting program staff with necessary administrative tasks.

Direct Report To: Program Director

Duties/Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist Case Management staff with file management, quality assurance, data entry, public benefit applications, and other administrative and direct services tasks.
  • Coordinate case closures and prepare files for client intakes and services.
  • Assist the Self-Sufficiency Specialists by mailing RCA closure and sanction letters.
  • Archive files on a regular basis following appropriate procedures.
  • Support Refugee ESL classes by maintaining attendance records, client technology troubleshooting, etc.
  • Accurate document services provided in case note database.
  • Maintain organization of storage room and other storage areas.
  • Maintaining supply inventory and communicating supply needs to relevant staff.
  • Attending all required training and meetings.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Sitting, Standing, Walking, Talking, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift fifteen pounds at times.
  • Physical Demands: Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
  • Stand less than 33% of time on duty.
  1. Walk less than 33% of the time on duty.
    1. Sit between 33% and 66% of time on duty.
    2. Use of hands to finger, handle or feel over 66% of time on duty.
    3. Reach with hands or arms less than 33% of time.
    4. Full ability to talk and hear.
    5. Correctable vision required.
    6. Able to lift/carry up to 10 lbs.

Minimum Educational and General Qualifications:

  • High School degree or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in social work or in a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual (English Spanish/Haitian-Creole) candidates highly preferred. Proficiency in Arabic, Burmese, Tigrinya, or other languages valued.
  • Experience working with refugee and immigrant populations preferred.
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse population and sensitivity to the special needs of multi-cultural immigrant children, adults, and families.
  • Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including maintaining effective work relationships.
  • Strong management and organizational skills, and ability to work across all levels of management and staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred. Facility with database use required.
