This Internship will be full-time in Duluth, MN from May 2025 through August 2025.
As a China Business Operations Professional, you will play a crucial role as part of team coordinating and streamlining operations between Cirrus Aircraft and our Chinese counterparts with responsibilities to include supporting and stream-lining the business processes for the production of aircraft both in the United States and in China by collaborating with project team members, engineers, supply chain, and production personnel. You will be applying lean concepts to existing business practices and in the development of new ones, providing technical support, and resolving any issues that arise during the production and procurement process. You will be part of a dynamic team committed to continuous improvement with opportunities to share expertise and learn from others.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Coordination:
- Assist in the coordination of production activities for Chinese manufacturing partners.
- Collaborate with engineers to understand the assembly process of SR2X and SR1X aircraft.
- Identify difficult processes and work towards simplification and fail-safeing.
2. Supply Chain Streamlining:
- Work with the supply chain team to manage the ordering and timely delivery of parts and materials.
- Address and resolve any supply chain issues that may impact production timelines.
3. Technical Support:
- Provide technical assistance to the Chinese production team to address any issues related to aircraft assembly.
- Facilitate communication between the engineering team and the Chinese production team to resolve technical challenges.
4. Issue Resolution:
- Identify and address any operational or production issues that arise, working to find effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Communicate and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve problems and minimize disruptions.
- Document and report on issues and resolutions to ensure continuous improvement.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Participate and periodically present during regular weekly / biweekly meetings with China counterparts.
- Prepare regular reports on production status, supply chain performance, technical support efforts, and issue resolution.
Qualifications:
- Upper division student currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Business Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in aerospace and aircraft production processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse international teams.
- Strong penchant for continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Desirable but not required:
- Quality Management Systems Experience
- International Business experience
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese
- Lean 6 Sigma project experience
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen & background check.
- Must be able to complete entire duration of internship.
- Must be able to secure local housing for duration of internship.
