Up Fundraising seeks a dynamic, committed individual to lead teams across the U.S. as Director of Fundraising Operations.  This individual will be growth-minded and interested in developing a personal growth plan over the next five years.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Vice President of UP Fundraising and will be focused on quality charitable fundraising targets through effective leadership by example.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Allocate material, human, and financial resources allowing the successful execution of organizational policies and fundraising programs. 
  • Develop and execute successful fundraising campaigns in coordination with Account Managers for each client.
  • Approve human resources planning in coordination with the recruiting department. 
  • Recruiting, hiring, and training new staff through personal and organic recruiting in one “local to you” market.
  • Leading and supporting existing markets and fundraising teams across the US. 



 

  • Supporting quality initiatives through effective and sustainable training practices.  
  • Delegate the necessary authority to staff and create optimum working conditions for the team. 
  • Work with the recruitment department to recruit and onboard fundraisers. 
  • Evaluate existing training programs and implement any changes or improvements. 
  • Work with Account Managers to set daily, weekly and monthly targets and lead fundraising teams to meet targets. 
  • Ensure campaign Key Performance Indicators around acquisition and retention are met and exceeded. 
  • Represent the company at trade association meetings to support business development. 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Determine the company’s mission and strategic direction as conveyed through policies and concrete objectives which are met through the effective management of human, financial, and material resources. 
  • Create a progressive work environment that values team members and their contributions to overall team success.
  • Upskill team members to ensure their personal growth and overall professional development. 
  • Ensure a culture that welcomes team members and treats them with respect, dignity, and courtesy.
  • Coordinate and manage team territory allocations. 


 

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of face-to-face fundraising, political canvassing, sales, event or sports marketing, and team-building experience at a management level.  
  • Proven track record of leading and building successful performance-based teams (references required) in at least two markets.
  • Experience across multiple areas of face-to-face fundraising, political canvassing, sales, event or sports marketing management, and team building (B2C, Retail, D2D, B2B, Street, Events, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively train, support, and motivate a team of performance-focused staff. 
  • Fluency in the English language. 
  • Must be able and willing to travel across Canada and the USA.
  • Must have US work authorization. 
  • Ability to adapt to technology tools and platforms.
