Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Sales Engineer with proven presentation skills and a strong ability to implement effective sales strategies. In this role, you will focus on developing new business opportunities within your assigned territory and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers. Your goal will be to drive sales results, build lasting client relationships, and help customers achieve their business goals using our proven solutions. Autonomy, a strong drive to succeed, and a desire to own the entire sales cycle are essential for success in this role.
Essential Job Functions:
- Business Development: Identify, cultivate, and secure new business opportunities with both current and prospective clients.
- Sales Objectives: Achieve or exceed annual sales targets within designated territories and client accounts.
- Client Engagement: Conduct regular client visits to assess needs, propose solutions, and gather detailed information for estimates and proposals.
- Project Involvement: Actively participate in turnkey projects, demonstrations, and customer initiatives to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the machine tool industry and our company’s product lines.
- CRM Management: Utilize CRM software to effectively manage all aspects of prospecting and customer engagement.
- Marketing Support: Assist with marketing efforts, including the design and preparation of promotional materials for product launches, updates, and promotions.
- Event Representation: Provide support and representation at trade shows and other off-site events as needed.
- Cross-Selling & Up-Selling: Implement strategies by understanding clients' value propositions, key business goals, and industry contexts.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities:
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proficiency in phone and electronic communications.
- Negotiation: Ability to negotiate pricing and contract terms effectively.
- Independent & Team Work: Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Multitasking: Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines.
- Sales Experience: Previous experience in outside sales, particularly with manufactured equipment, is preferred.
- Presentation Skills: Strong professional communication and presentation abilities.
- Problem-Solving: Innovative approach to problem-solving with a results-oriented mindset.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
- Sales Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in selling and applying high-performance cutting tools.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote. Knowledge of programming software (e.g., MasterCam, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is preferred.
- Licensing: Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable automobile transportation, and current auto insurance.
Physical Requirements:
- Computer Work: Ability to work on computers for extended periods.
- Travel: Availability for travel, including occasional overnight stays, for show support.
