The Assistant Market Operations Director will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of operations in their respective market.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Create, manage and execute business development strategies.
  • Proactively identify prospects and cultivate relationships with customers.
  • Make presentations to potential clients and assist in growing and maintaining the client relationship.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their needs and to ensure customer satisfaction and identify growth opportunities

Operations:

  • Staffs, trains, and motivates an effective team necessary to accomplish market objections in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Collaborates with team to ensure accurate estimates and budgets for materials and labor.
  • Coordinates and schedules work activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, communicating instructions and project assignments as appropriate.
  • Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to senior leadership; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
  • Develops the annual market budget, manages market level financial performance, and provides input for long-range financial planning to assure that the necessary resources are available to achieve growth and performance objectives. Analyzes and reports on operating results/trends and contributes to monthly financial and operating forecasts of market performance.
  • Collaborates with project manager, purchasing manager, and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications, zoning requirements, and other regulations are met.
  • Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in work plans are followed.
  • Obtains required permits and licenses; executes construction contracts according to terms of agreement.
  • Monitors operation budget throughout and communicates variances as they occur.
  • Ensures safety practices are followed at all work sites. Educates employees on safety policies and procedures.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their needs and to ensure customer satisfaction and identify growth opportunities
  • Participates in goal setting for direct reports, utilizing objective techniques and self-measurement relative to performance, and performs periodic review of accomplishments and activities toward the established objectives
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Up to 30% travel

  • Proficient at “Value Engineering” residential remodel/construction.
  • The ability to mentor, coach, and teach your team the trade knowledge you have acquired.

  • Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
  • Extremely detail-oriented.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
  • Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.
  • Thorough understanding of quality building practices.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
  • Minimum 7 years in a general residential construction leadership position preferred.

Education and Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience as a General Contractor a plus.
