Position Overview
Arizona State University is in search of several part-time assistant event coordinators to aid in the operational support of events occurring at various university venues. This role will report directly to the Event Coordinator and operates on an event-driven schedule, offering part-time, hourly employment with flexible hours to accommodate evening, weekend, and holiday events.
Work Environment
- Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to remain standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to navigate multiple flights of stairs within a single shift.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly in spreadsheet and document management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license for university-related travel.
Background Verification
All candidates will undergo a pre-employment screening process, which includes a criminal background check, verification of previous employment, academic qualifications, and any relevant licenses or certifications. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of this background check.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should have an Associate's degree in Business Administration or a related field along with one year of experience in facility coordination; or possess three years of progressively responsible experience in event or facility coordination; or demonstrate an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Desired Skills

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in pre-event, during, and post-event operations, addressing emergencies and ensuring compliance with approved plans. Responsibilities include managing parking, setting up furniture, and monitoring environmental controls during outdoor events.
- Support facility users by providing information on technical, security, and other event-related requirements; assist in resolving issues and directing inquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Conduct event preparation by communicating with facility users and maintaining records of communications and event documentation.
- Organize and maintain records of event activities, tracking their progress and status.
- Coordinate responsibilities with other staff to ensure efficiency and adherence to established procedures.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
