Job DescriptionJob Description

May include:

• Be the SME and contribute to the development of requirements, algorithms, content for technical literature, troubleshooting guide and other product documentations

• Review requirements, algorithms, design documents and validation test plans to ensure the new product will satisfy our customers’ expectations.

• Responsible for training the dealer and reps on new and existing Daikin residential products

• Responsible for monitoring and managing technical support requests from internal and external customers.

• Work with engineering team to bring solutions to field issues

• Manages and leverages relationships with dealers, reps and internal cross-functional teams

• Monitoring warranty claims and field issues, makes early warnings and recommendations to solve any potential field failures.

• Help design, and build test simulators to help Engineering team with their functional testing of Daikin’s residential controls portfolio and applicable or appropriate 3rd party accessories and devices.

• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Nature & Scope:

• Is recognized as a subject matter expert in job area

• Manages large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager

• Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level professionals

• Problems faced are difficult and often complex

Knowledge & Skills:

• Working knowledge about HVAC system operations, applications, AHRI rated combinations

• Familiar with how dealer and technician operate in the field

• Proven ability to apply electronic theory, HVAC system and controls knowledge, thermal/airflow dynamics, and other refrigeration theory as well as their field experience to solve different levels of field issues.

• Able to manage priorities and meet short- and long-term deadlines

• Enjoy working in a cross-functioning and global development team environment

• Proven successes for good decision making, quick learning, troubleshooting and good judgment

• Excellent communication and writing skills

• Ability to understand technical documents including electrical diagrams.

Experience:

• 5+ years of HVAC controls related experience

• Professionally trained with major brands of residential HVAC systems and controls, including 24v and communicating ones

• Knowledge of communicating system and ducted zoning system is a strong plus

• Experience with literature, troubleshooting guide and other documentation development

Education/Certification:

• Associate degree or Bachelor degree is a plus

• Electrical license is a plus

People Management: No
