Job Overview

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of manufacturing process control systems and automation technologies.
  • Modify and troubleshoot various PLC, HMI, VFD, and servo programs as necessary.
  • Diagnose issues related to plant communication networks including Ethernet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, and DeviceNet.
  • Configure SCADA systems and utilize scripting to enhance manufacturing equipment integration within the plant's data and enterprise management systems.
  • Maintain and expand Virtual Machine servers and network architecture to facilitate plant growth and modernization.
  • Provide effective controls support to resolve manufacturing equipment failures and runtime issues, minimizing downtime and production loss.
  • Identify root causes of equipment malfunctions and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist in the design, selection of components, vendor management, installation, commissioning, and testing of control systems in manufacturing automation projects.
  • Interpret and prepare electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance the operational efficiency of manufacturing equipment.
  • Document program modifications and improvements for future reference and team communication.
  • Collaborate effectively with other teams to address production challenges.
  • Support production engineering and maintenance teams in troubleshooting and repair projects.
  • Prepare technical documentation and presentations.
  • Analyze issues in a high-volume production environment.
  • Adapt to changing responsibilities and work conditions.
  • Engage in additional projects and duties to support ongoing business needs.

  • Familiarity with electrical practices and safety regulations.
  • Ability to debug and troubleshoot with minimal assistance.
  • Capable of working with various control and automation components.
  • Effective task management with limited direction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical abilities.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills, including prioritization.
  • Able to collaborate with a diverse range of individuals in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity in the workplace.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with PLC, HMI, VFD, and servo programming projects.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, Ignition, Python programming, and SQL.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET), or a related engineering discipline with a focus on controls is required.
