E-Catalog and Market Pricing Specialist

Creates, maintains, and owns the e-catalog process within the organization. Researches, collects, and publishes product information and conducts competitive product pricing analysis, including features and benefits of competitor parts in comparison with EMPI brand product lines. Works with Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Production, and Quality Control to build comprehensive product data that will support electronic cataloging (i.e., ACES/PIES compliant files) to support & promote EMPI products.

Examine market and customer demands alongside the competition to influence and support the product’s marketability and sales vision. Contribute to and, where applicable, assist in the strategic and tactical development of this position’s role within the organization. Responsible for delivering e-catalog and product pricing objectives to achieve organizational market and revenue growth. Interact positively and professionally with EMPI sales associates, dealers, and end consumers via in-person, electronic, and social media communication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, manage, and prioritize catalog requests, capturing requirements for content and timing, aligning resources to deliver catalogs in the timeframe and format requested
  • Develop and maintain catalog infrastructure to ensure systems and processes are best-in-class to deliver market-relevant, accurate application and item attribute information
  • Troubleshoots catalog application, product database, and interchangeability issues
  • Develop and implement processes to advance the continual improvement and accuracy of product fitment data and attributes
  • Be the internal owner and authority on the network of external resources for application and product attributes, including ACES/PIES application/fitment data
  • Maintain consistency standards for cataloged product data and content across all output mediums (websites, printed catalogs, etc.).
  • Analyzes brand performance, price, product competitiveness, and trends in the marketplace and develops short and mid-term strategies for assigned products based on this research and analysis.
  • Meets regularly with customers and suppliers to improve sales growth, profitability, market share, and program quality.
  • Work within cross-functional teams to utilize content-rich item information, including product descriptions, features and benefits, images, catalog classifications, competitive product interchanges, and other product attributes.
  • Assists with developing sales and marketing materials such as website copy, product flyers, packaging, sales promotions, programs, etc.
  • May source and defer alternate supplier options to Executive Management, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing.
  • Completes special projects as directed by department management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Automotive Aftermarket e-catalog arena
  • Air-cooled Volkswagen and Porsche parts knowledge is required
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the VW aftermarket parts arena
  • Experience: 3-5 years of product catalog experience is required
  • ACES and PIES/PILS environment-related experience is required
  • Knowledgeable in market-based pricing and competitive pricing analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, and cloud-based ERP systems (Oracle, Business Central, etc.).
  • Knowledge & experience with various e-catalog vcdb, pcdb ACES/PIES formatting is a must
  • Ability to work cooperatively within cross-functional teams
  • Thoroughness and high attention to detail with strong technical acumen
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Develop and maintain automated reporting where applicable
  • Manage the process of regular price list adjustments, as needed to maintain organizational goals
