DS Technologies Inc is looking for Linux Engineer role for one of our premier clients.

Job Title: Linux Engineer
Location: 3 days onsite in Plano, TX
Industry: Information Technology / Data Center Operations

Overview:
The Linux Engineer will lead and participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities. This role involves cross-functional technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities. The candidate will be responsible for multiple, complex engineering and analytical tasks and is expected to act as a technology subject matter expert, providing complex technology solutions across different audiences, including technical teams, management, business executives, and vendors.

Position:
Linux Engineer responsible for system engineering activities, technical support, and providing technology solutions across various platforms and environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in complex system engineering activities.
  • Provide OS technical and break/fix level support.
  • Perform OS administration tasks on RHEL6, RHEL7, and SLES 11+ on virtualized and bare-metal servers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware issues on Linux systems.
  • Design, develop, and implement software and hardware solutions.
  • Install, configure, and support Puppet and related tools.
  • Administer multipath, VAS/AD, yum, BladeLogic, and related technologies.
  • Debug and troubleshoot network, performance, and software issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective system integration.
  • Maintain and support SAN-based disk solutions and configurations.
  • Provide 24-hour on-call support and work a flexible schedule, including weekends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Senior-level experience primarily with Linux.
  • Experience with IBM AIX OS is a plus.
  • Proficient in shell scripting and automation.
  • Expertise in RedHat Linux Clustering Solutions.
  • Experience with SLES 11+ and HANA DB is a plus.
  • Familiarity with tools like BladeLogic, DNT, ESM, and vsphere client.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network, performance, and software issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • 10+ years of systems engineering experience.

Additional Information:
This is a contract-to-hire position with a 12-month duration. The role is based onsite in Plano, TX, for 3 days a week. Candidates must have substantial experience in Linux systems engineering and be prepared to work in a dynamic environment with 24-hour on-call support requirements.
