Principal Linux Operations Administrator

Contract Position

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will oversee the configuration and management of network systems, ensuring effective maintenance and troubleshooting of issues.

They will be responsible for the setup, integration, and validation of both hardware and software network devices.

Regular system maintenance of servers, workstations, and network components will be required to support various teams.

Additionally, the role includes administering user access and safeguarding information to comply with security protocols.

Monitoring system performance is essential to facilitate capacity planning, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.

Required Skills:

At least 5-7 years of experience in managing datacenter environments for software and hardware development teams is necessary.

Proficient knowledge and experience with virtualization technologies (such as Microsoft HyperV, Nutanix AHV, KVM, and VMware) and network architecture (including Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, etc.) are critical for success in this position.

Extensive experience with server operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux, is required.

Strong familiarity with VMware vRealize and other automation tools for lab environments is preferred.

Experience using Jira and Confluence is also beneficial.

Hands-on experience with Linux, Python, and other scripting languages is advantageous.

The ability to logically and analytically troubleshoot software and network challenges is essential.

Adaptability to new technologies and understanding of resilient, scalable network infrastructures is important.

Knowledge of IP v4/V6 addressing schemes is required.

The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently, demonstrating thoroughness and a focus on quality.

They should be committed, proactive, and possess excellent communication skills.
