ThermAvant is seeking a full time Manufacturing "Braze" Technician to join our Braze department as a valuable resource to help develop our growing braze process and contribute to the processing of production parts through the braze ovens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, instrument and load parts into fixtures and braze ovens based on provided schedule
  • Perform quality checks throughout the process related to part dimensions, cleanliness, part fit up and braze quality
  • Perform routine maintenance on ovens and various equipment related to the brazing operation
  • Aid in identification of process trends and nonconformances while performing the day-to-day activities
  • Prepare and help process metallurgical samples obtained from the brazing processes
  • Aid in achieving and maintaining certification/qualification on all equipment and processes
  • Aid in establishing and preserving documented procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of brazing specifications as they relate to the job function
  • Ensure attention to details and quality while meeting production schedules
  • Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping practices
  • Perform and participate in inspections, audits, and resolving non-conformities
  • Properly use shop/hand tools, ovens and other equipment required to complete tasks
  • Work with others to promote and maintain a positive working environment
  • Complete other work as required/requested


Requirements:

Job Requirements

  • ***Must be able to obtain security clearance as it applies to ITAR and EAR regulations***
  • High School diploma or equivalent or 2+ years of relevant experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics for fabrication
  • Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001:2008 or similar quality management procedures and processes (preferred)
  • Good computer (Word, Excel, e-mail) and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Good manual dexterity and familiarity with general shop tools
  • Able to physically handle heavy materials (>50 lbs) when necessary
  • Skills not required but could be considered an asset:
  • Material handling equipment, i.e., overhead cranes, tow-motor, pallet jacks
  • Heat treating or other high temperature ovens
  • Brazing ovens with a variety of atmospheric conditions (vacuum, inert gas, hydrogen, etc)
  • Experience in clean room environment

Special Working Conditions/Job Characteristics:

  • Full-Time 40 hours (Monday thru Friday)
  • Willing to work overtime as required.
  • Prior CNC machine or programming experience
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Oven, Braze or Autoclave expirence is a plus
