Order Intake Support

The Order Intake Support role is designed to facilitate the training and development of individuals with no prior or limited experience in Order Intake processes, aiming to prepare them for the responsibilities of an Order Intake Specialist I. Reporting to the Order Intake Training Supervisor, the Order Intake Support will assist in processing orders for wound care products targeted for residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities. This position requires individuals who exhibit a strong drive, critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and a capacity for quick learning. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative team environment, mastering medical terminology and industry-specific knowledge while navigating computer systems with confidence.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing patient demographics and creating patient profiles.
  • Aid in verifying eligibility and benefits of various insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Managed Care.
  • Support in receiving, reviewing, and processing orders for wound care products, ensuring alignment with insurance qualifications and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) supplier standards.
  • Learn to add correct HCPCS code(s), modifier(s), and ICD-10 code(s) to product orders.
  • Participate in reviewing clinical documentation for compliance with payer guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external team members to ensure efficient order processing.
  • Demonstrate a professional service attitude when collaborating with clinical staff on product order modifications.
  • Adhere to department protocol and comply with Federal, State, and payer regulations, guidelines, and requirements.
  • Assist in responding to incoming customer phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Undertake additional job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with at least basic office experience.
  • Interest in and willingness to learn patient registration processes, insurance verification, HCPCS coding, ICD-10 coding, insurance allowable, and Medicare guidelines for DME.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, with a focus on developing fast and accurate typing skills and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Task- and goal-oriented mindset, capable of meeting daily quotas.
  • Customer service-oriented approach.

* This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday to Friday. Overtime required, time off must be scheduled outside of peak business volume times, such as the last 5 business days of every month and the last 10 business days of December.
