ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following, but other duties may be assigned as company’s needs dictate.
  • Maintains and updates fixed assets listing in Oracle by category and compiles copies of vendor’s invoices including pertinent documents necessary for asset additions.
  • Controls and safeguards fixed assets by labeling individual assets with the company’s official tag number for identification.
  • Reconciles fixed assets subsidiary records against the General Ledger controlling account and conducts inspection of fixed assets periodically.
  • Prepares monthly Capital Projects Status Reports and distributes it with a memo which advises the recipients to inform the accounting group of which project has been completed. Likewise, reconciles balance against the General Ledger controlling account.
  • Reconciles bank accounts – Concentration, Sweep, and Accounts Payable versus book balances and prepares necessary adjusting journal entries for legitimate reconciling items. Distributes copies of reconciliation paperwork to appropriate personnel and alerts the Accounts Payable staff of long outstanding checks.
  • Performs analysis of accounts whenever necessary.
  • Creates Accounts Receivable invoices and monthly sales/receivable confirmations.
  • Applies affiliate A/R payments. Deposits and applies miscellaneous payments.
  • Assists in the preparation of schedules and statements required by external auditors.
  • Creates debit/credit memos as requested.
  • Attends to other matters which the Accounting Manager and/or Director of Operations may assign from time to time.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting from four-year college or university and two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, outsource services’ representatives, etc.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Knowledge of Accounting software; Payroll software; Spreadsheet software; Word Processing software; and Oracle System.
REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
