Consulting Engineer Account Executive

TLA has an excellent opportunity for an eager engineer to further your career in engineering business development and sales. Reporting to TLA, Inc.’s VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for helping grow our business and build relationships with consulting engineers throughout the state of Virginia.



Responsibilities Include:

  • Increasing demand for the TLA portfolio of hydronic heating and cooling products
  • Business development and sales for pre-construction and engineering accounts in your territory
  • Training and guidance for product specifications and implementation of TLA’s represented product lines for the consulting engineering accounts you support
  • Development of educational programs such as lunch and learns, whiteboard sessions, customer communications, and line card presentations
  • Coordinating travel with product managers from our represented manufacturers to support and educate consulting engineers in your territory
  • Supporting the bid market on an as-needed basis for support of RFIs, strategy, and perspective on bid opportunities and construction/execution items in relation to your engineering accounts
  • Creating close alignment with TLA’s estimating department, area sales managers, and the remainder of outside sales leadership

Your territory and engineering accounts will primarily be located in the Richmond, VA area with future expansion to the following areas: Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Harrisonburg, Fredericksburg, and Williamsburg. This role requires approximately 30% local travel throughout the state of Virginia.



Desired Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in engineering sales or building engineering design
  • Entry-level candidates will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Basic understanding of Hydronic Systems, Controls, Design, Bidding, & Award Process
