Job Title: Full-Time (M-F) Swing and Grave Residential Aide
Department: ODR Interim Housing
Reports to: Program Manager

The Alcott Center for Mental Health Services, a nonprofit community mental health agency is seeking a Full-Time Resident Support Staff (RSS)/Aide for Interim Housing. Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Monitor provides professional, compassionate, and safe care for all residents. Must be able to work any shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to the following:

  • Respond to client’s needs in a prompt, patient, and professional manner
  • General monitoring of clients to ensure that a safe and welcoming atmosphere is maintained
  • Follow all organization policies and procedures
  • Complete all daily logs, including needed signatures, and provide complete end-of-shift reports to the oncoming staff and to the Program Manager.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Monitor the house and residents, and make rounds as necessary.
  • Document and report unusual occurrences, incidents, and injuries.
  • Ensure all resident rooms are neat and clean, and hallways are free of obstructions and other safety hazards.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Assist residents in improving independence through adherence to daily chores and personal care; verifies all common areas, laundry areas, and restrooms are clean and disinfected & fully operational
  • As assigned, assist house staff during the provision of services to residents including meal preparation/serving, monitoring and recording client self-administration of prescribed medication, and set-up for classes, meetings, recreation, and other Program events.
  • Always maintain resident confidentiality.
  • Answer telephones and take messages for residents and staff, monitor doors, and greet visitors
  • Other Tasks that may be required by the Program Manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One year of experience in mental health or substance abuse treatment, or any other social services program serving the homeless
  • Recovering alcohol and/or drug user, you must have at least 1 year of continuous sobriety.
  • Strong Microsoft operating systems skills (Outlook, Office, Word, Excel, etc.) along with database familiarity
  • Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflict, including dealing with un-cooperative clients
  • Will consider candidates with lived experiences
  • Must possess a valid California Driver's License
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including booster.

  • Patient with the ability to create a calming influence in stressful situations.
  • Act as a role model always while putting residents needs first.
  • Collaborative team player who is adaptable, organized, consistent, and compassionate with good communications skills.'
