Job DescriptionJob Description

This position is primarily responsible for assigning daily work and ensuring that time requirements are met using lean processes and on-time delivery to customers and internal departments. Performing QC on projects before they leave department. Placing orders for items to keep within min/max levels. Working closely with other supervisors within other departments to make sure that product is received to paint in a timely manner.

  • Directs the overall paint activities, significantly improving current operations while effectively introducing new processes and procedures.
  • Provides effective leadership and guidance that encourages world class operation processes, Continuous Improvement, employee empowerment and lean manufacturing.
  • Interfaces with Vice President of Manufacturing, Product Managers and Compliance Manager to resolve issues and strengthen relationships.
  • Implement strategies for cost reduction, process improvement and on-time delivery.
  • Develops and maintains preventative maintenance programs for the equipment.
  • Manage departmental budgets.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of direct reports.
  • Preparation and mix coating materials in accordance with coating manufacturer's specifications
  • Measurement of coating film thicknesses dry and wet as required by job specifications
  • Cleaning of all paint spraying equipment upon completion of use and report any defective parts or equipment to management.
  • Recognizing surfaces for painting readiness.
  • Keeping work area clean and free of debris.
  • Assures facility compliance with applicable federal and state health, safety and environmental law, regulations and standards; Yearly Certifications of subordinates and Inspections of PPE.
  • Able to perform Booth Maintenance, calling rep to for replacing inline filters, booth filters.

Paint Supervisor Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma plus (10) years of Painting and Bondo work.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and local government operating plans and procedures, including OSHA.
  • A minimum of (10) years in a lead management position supervising a paint and prep crew.
  • Demonstrated strong technical background with an ability to interpret drawings technical paint specification data for material application.
  • Demonstrated ability to specify required paint equipment (tips, guns, air orbital sanders) and develop processes to meet standards.
  • Ability to manage consumable material budgets based on paint specifications for projects
  • Demonstrated strong background with an ability to identify root cause analysis of defects and equipment.
