Job Summary: The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to the restaurant’s recipes and standards. This role requires precision, efficiency, and a strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations. The Line Cook works as part of a team to ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented consistently and to the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook food items as per the menu and specific customer requests, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Station Management: Set up and maintain designated cooking stations, including grilling, sautéing, frying, and baking.
  • Recipe Adherence: Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications to ensure uniformity and quality.
  • Ingredient Handling: Manage ingredients and supplies, including stocking and rotating items to prevent spoilage.
  • Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
  • Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a clean and safe cooking environment.
  • Communication: Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations; communicate any issues or needs to the Kitchen Manager or General Manager.
  • Inventory: Assist with inventory control by monitoring and reporting the need for additional supplies or ingredients.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role required.
  • Skills: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, strong knife skills, and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
  • Food Safety: Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from supervisors.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for long periods and handle the physical demands of the role, including lifting and carrying heavy items.


Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school education or certification a plus.


Additional Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
