Position Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for accounts payable, daily banking, cash reconciliations, fixed asset and inventory reconciliations, assisting with the financial statement close process, and related ad-hoc requests. The position is based in the Las Vegas office.

Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices for payment and prepare weekly vendor payment run
  • Manage daily banking transactions
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis (cash, fixed assets, and inventory)
  • Ensure transactions are recorded and recognized in accordance with Company policies and U.S. GAAP
  • Assist in the yearly audit and quarterly review processes
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial transactions
  • Notify management of any issues or possible issues of fraud
  • Ensure adherence to all Company policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:

  • Must have strong customer service skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Plan and execute projects, establish priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent project management and time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP
  • Ability to read, analyze, and evaluate reports and statistical data
  • Must adhere to all standards required of a publicly traded and regulated business
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude with a professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Ability to solve critical and practical problems, exercise good judgment, and deal with stress effectively
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret detailed, concise, and accurate documents, such as reports, policies, procedures, and correspondence
  • Demonstrate integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office programs, and accounting software (NetSuite a plus)
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Ability to obtain a Nevada gaming license

Education/Experience:

  • Three (3) years of work experience in accounting is required, preferably accounts payable
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related field preferred
  • Experience working for a publicly-traded company is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Must occasionally move about inside the office to access office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly use hands/fingers to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
