Position Summary

The Full-Time Evening & Weekend Cook is responsible for preparing and serving evening and weekend meals, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area and kitchen. This position also assists with receiving and organizing food orders and ensures compliance with meal recording requirements under the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of institutional cooking experience, including prep cooking and portioning for all age groups, and must pass a background check and hold a valid Food Handlers Permit.

 

Essential Job functions

  • Follow pre-planned menu to prepare and serve weekend and evening meals according to USDA nutritional guidelines
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff.
  • Clean kitchen following health and safety standards.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food orders.
  • Record meals served as required by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
  • Assist with other food services-related tasks as assigned by the Director of Food Services.

Ideal candidates will have the following:

Physical/Sensory Demands

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable office environment.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:  sit or stand for long periods of time; use tablet to enter data; use telephone to converse with vendors and staff; walk and stand for long periods of time; perform repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement. Required to lift up to 40 lbs.
