The Building and Grounds Technician is responsible for the overall appearance and cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of the building and grounds. He/she is an entrusted point of contact to our internal and external clients for all building and grounds needs. He/she provides prompt, efficient, and high-quality service while following all safety regulations and aligns with our Company’s credo of ‘Create Raving Fans’ There is a high amount of trust in the Building and Grounds Technician as many times he/she is the first point of contact when or if upkeep is required or a safety concern is reported.

Essential Functions

This following list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities based on business necessity. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Responsible for the overall upkeep, appearance and cleanliness of building interior and exterior. This includes but is not limited to mowing, trimming, treating weeds, planting, leaf removal, snow removal as needed of the building exterior. Upkeep of the building interior includes but is not limited to vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning restrooms, changing lightbulbs, watering plants, light maintenance of water heaters and HVAC units, emptying trash and shred bins, minor drywall and painting, and surface wipe downs with disinfectant.
  • Successfully complete assigned work orders in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner 
  • Proactively identify and communicate potential property issues to respective Lee Agency management for follow-up and corrective action   
  • Maintain assigned company-owned vehicle in a safe and clean working order
  • Keep record of purchases and work completed
  • Conduct regular inspections of the building to ensure everything is working properly and safety hazards are addressed
  • Capacity to work overtime during periods of high-volume activity
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

The following are the minimum requirements for the position, which may be satisfied by an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Related experience is preferred.
  • On-the-job training offered.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to regularly read from a computer, tablet, or smartphone device. Employee must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.

This position operates in a fast-paced, professional business office environment with a moderate noise level. The employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions/inclement weather throughout the year.
