Role:
Our Retail Training Designer Designer will author engaging and interactive learning experiences in multiple modalities using instructional design best practices and processes. The Retail Training Designer will identify the most appropriate training strategies for teams and individuals, by leveraging a variety of learning platforms (eLearning, instructor-led training, group workshops, etc.) Our designer will work collaboratively with the VP of Sales & Service along with interdepartmental leadership to design internal training for the retail areas of the credit union.
Work Location:
This is an onsite position. Occasional remote work may be available for select positions and is subject to prior approval by management.
What you will be doing:
- Performs analyses, designs and develops learning curriculum to improve performance of Soarion retail employees.
- Assesses the learning outcomes that need to be developed, understands the performance expectations and gaps, and assists in deriving the appropriate learning solution.
- Identifies the most appropriate training strategies for teams and individuals, by leveraging a variety of learning platforms (eLearning, instructor-led training, group workshops, etc.).
- Works with leadership to identify departmental efforts and resources towards development, education, operations, and coaching activities that are critical to retail growth goals and strategic priorities.
- Creates an overall course map or activity path to identify the appropriate developmental track for the retail team and leaders based on a variety of factors including level, tenure with company, current knowledge and skill level, and future career path.
- Authors clear and measurable learning objectives with corresponding assessment plans
- Designs learning activities that encourage learner-directed participation, peer to peer learning, and meaningful engagement.
- Authors instructional design documents, facilitator guides, learner guides and job aids that meet internal style guidelines and our internal design rubric
- Prepares storyboard and author learning deliverables including e-learning modules, videos, software simulations.
- Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
- Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities.
- Organizes course content to produce curriculum that meets learning needs of the business.
- Develops and manages timelines and milestones.
- Collaborates with internal business partners to validate that curriculum solutions align to business priorities and strategy for operational effectiveness.
- Participates in peer-to-peer reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and appropriate use of course content guidelines.
- Develops tools and processes to measure effectiveness of curriculum solutions and learner performance to ensure solutions meet employee skill development requirements.
- Applies understanding of the business, its products and processes to reshape content for changing needs.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
What you'll bring along:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education or other related field or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years’ industry experience as a technical writer or learning content creation.
- 5+ years of experience training and/or facilitating classes for adult learners. Should have experience in creating and delivering both live and eLearning content.
- 5+ years of experience in customer service, retail, sales, and training within financial services
- Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Must display ability to self-direct and have excellent organizational skills. Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Preferred:
- Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. Articulate 360/Storyline/Rise, TechSmith Camtasia/SnagIt/Audiate, Canva, FoxIt. Must have strong PC skills and demonstrate ability to master various technological systems (Symitar, MeridianLink, PC software programs, etc.)
- Credit Union Experience Highly Preferred.
