Workforce Programs Intern

In service of this vision, we advocate for early education and care policy reform and implement innovative, scalable solutions that address the biggest challenges facing early education and care providers and the families who rely on them.

About Neighborhood Villages: Neighborhood Villages advocates for policy reform and designs and implements pilot programs primed for adoption into public policy-and we have a proven track record of success. Through testing new solutions, Neighborhood Villages is driving the policy reform necessary to make change happen by building a stronger child care sector, through providing professional development programming and infrastructure supports to child care providers.

The Workforce Programs Intern, reporting to the Senior Director of Workforce Programs, will support workforce development programs for early childhood educators, including the CDA Apprenticeship Program, the Early Childhood Emerging Leaders Apprenticeship Program, the Lead Teacher Program, and the Degree Support Program. Responsibilities include supporting recruitment and registration of program participants, researching and coordinating wraparound and technical support for participants, and assisting with general program operations. The Workforce Programs Intern will work with key staff to ensure participants enrolled in NV's workforce development programs have a seamless experience from start to finish.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support apprentices in getting to their classes each week
  • Produce written materials to help guide apprentices through the program
  • Collaborate with members of the Workforce team to ensure participants in Neighborhood Villages programs have a seamless experience
  • Research organizations in the Boston area that provide wraparound support services that may benefit workforce program participants - e.g. financial assistance, food pantries, housing support
  • Create communication templates for use in program outreach, participant engagement, enrollment processes, etc.
  • Assist in organizing program folders and files in Google drive
  • Support Workforce team strategy development
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in progress
  • Demonstrated interest in early education
  • Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills
  • Exceptional ability to independently manage time
  • Strong ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel

The start and end dates are flexible; however, this is a summer internship, and we are looking for a commitment of between 5 and 10 weeks.

Location

Neighborhood Villages is currently operating via a hybrid work model. The Intern will work remotely on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and will be invited (not required, but preferred) to work in-person from Neighborhood Villages' Dorchester office on Thursdays.

Other Requirements

The Intern will need to have access to a computer on which to complete work and an environment in which to complete work on remote work days.

Compensation:

We offer a stipend for summer internships of $3,000.
