DIRECTOR OF SOFTWARE

DIRECTOR OF SOFTWARE:
This position is responsible for leading our software development team and overseeing the design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of our web and mobile applications. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of our products, as well as managing the collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders, including overseas development teams. You will also be involved in setting the strategic technical direction and vision for our software products and services, and ensuring alignment with the company's goals and values. Requires high-level collaboration with multiple business areas and key franchise partner stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of software developers, QA engineers, and project managers, and provide feedback and guidance on their performance and career development.
  • Define and implement best practices and standards for software development, testing, code review, documentation, and deployment, and ensure compliance with them across the team.
  • Design and architect scalable, secure, and robust web and mobile applications using PHP, Node.js, React, and other relevant technologies and frameworks.
  • Plan and manage the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance, using agile methodology and tools.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the performance, availability, and security of the software products and services, and resolve any issues or defects in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including product managers, designers, customers, users, and overseas development teams, and ensure alignment of expectations and deliverables.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and trends, and provide recommendations and insights on how to improve or innovate our software products and services.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and vision for our software products and services and ensure alignment with the company's goals and values.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience. MBA or Masters degree in computer science preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role.
  • Expertise in PHP, Node.js, React, and other relevant technologies and frameworks, and experience in developing web and mobile applications using them.
  • Experience in API design, integration design (preferably on an IPaaS).
  • Experience in enterprise platform development (ie, Salesforce, MSFT Dynamics, etc.) is preferred
  • Experience in software development, testing, code review, documentation, and deployment, and familiarity with agile methodology and tools.
  • Experience in working with internal and external development teams, including overseas teams, and managing the collaboration and communication with them.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, and ability to deliver high-quality and reliable software products and services.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Passion for learning and staying updated with the latest technologies and trends in software development.
