The Financial Controller is responsible for the financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reports, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls. This position involves managing the accounting department, preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.

Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Preparation and execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Accounting Operations: Lead and motivate teams, including accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger. Provide coaching, training, and feedback to help staff improve their skills and achieve their goals. Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasting updates. Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations. Work closely with department heads to ensure budget compliance and effective resource allocation.
  • Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant regulations. Coordinate and manage internal and external audits. Prepare audit schedules and provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Provide strategic financial planning and decision-making processes. Identify and implement financial process improvements.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback and training. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication channels with other departments and subject matter experts within the organization, as well as external stakeholders such as clients and vendors. Provide regular updates on call center performance and initiatives.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification (preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a management role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Sage is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
